SITE OPERATIVE

CLYDE WIND FARM, SOUTH LANARKSHIRE

SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE

SSE Generation, part of the Scottish and Southern Energy group, is the second largest generator in the UK, with an ownership interest in over 100 thermal and renewable power stations, totalling a capacity of over 10,000MW. We are the UK's largest generator of electricity from renewable sources, owning and operating almost half of the UK's total renewable generation capacity.

SSE Onshore Wind Generation operate over 1GW of capacity across the UK and Ireland. At 350MW (enough electricity to power 279,000 homes) Clyde Windfarm is the largest single consented Windfarm in Europe and has applied for further consent to install an additional 171MW of capacity. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative to support the operation of the turbines and civil infrastructure at Clyde Windfarm.

As a Site Operative, you will support the Operations Supervisor to ensure the site meets its safety, availability and production targets.

Responsibilities will include ensuring there is a high standard of health, safety and environmental protection on site, carry out monthly checks and report defects, ongoing repairs of roads, drains and signage, operating mobile plant including dumpers, rollers and 360o excavators - training will be given for this.

You'll have a high regard for health and safety and be comfortable working at height together with the ability to plan work with minimum supervision and be confident at communicating with all levels of staff.

Due to rural location, succesul candidate will live within 55 miles of site.

You'll ideally have experience of working in construction / civil maintenance.

Full UK driving license.
