SSE Renewables is the renewable energy development division of SSE plc. The company has responsibility for the development of onshore and offshore wind farms in the Ireland, UK and Europe as well as developing hydro and marine projects.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Project Planner. The position will be located in Glasgow office and will be part of the Renewables Project Services Team.

You will be responsible for development, maintenance and analysis of project programmes using critical path techniques together with Earned Value Management as well as working closely with Project Managers and other functional groups internally, including Development, Wind Analysis, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Procurement. You will interface directly with external parties to prepare and review project programmes.

Preparing accurate and timely project schedules or related project control information to allow for effective resource management in support of wind generation projects is an essential part of the role as is the ability to provide detailed analysis of project performance and variances, make appropriate recommendations

You will have significant experience working as a Planning Engineer and have a good working knowledge of Primavera (P6 preferred). You will need construction industry experience and will likely have worked in the schedule or planning department at one or other of a client, contracting, or consulting engineering organisation. A formal qualification in construction management or scheduling would be advantageous as would on-site construction experience.
