About the Department

This role sits within our Utility Arboriculture department who are responsible for the maintenance of vegetation around our overhead electricity network in central southern England. This role forms part of close knit internal team who manage the safety, performance and finance of a predominantly contractor based workforce. Our aim is to deliver a safe and reliable supply of electricity to approximately 2.9m customers who rely on the supply of our electricity every minute of every day.

What is the Role?

As a Utility Arb Project Manager you will be spend the majority of your time working remotely in the field. You will commute from home to sites around your patch every day and manage your own time effectively to meet your targets. You'll be responsible for overseeing the on-site, day to day activities of our highly skilled cutting teams, you'll be focussed on safety and be motivated by managing others to deliver work to the best of their abilities. The role provides a direct link between us as the client and the front line staff, an environment where consistency and professionalism are vital attributes. You'll work alongside highly experienced people and companies in the Utility Arb industry and will have the potential to help mould the future of an ever changing sector.

This role covers a wide range of functions, some of the base responsibilities include:

- On-site safety engagements

- Coaching / mentoring

- Inspection of completed works

- Quality control

- Record keeping

- Data reporting

- Customer liaison work

- Surveying

- Land owner negotiations

What do I need?

A driving license and the ability to use basic IT are essential. A background in Utility Arboriculture or Arboriculture is especially advantageous however, we are also interested in candidates who have skills that they feel would be transferable to the role. We actively encourage anyone with experience of customer relationship management, who holds the ability to assess, plan and challenge a workforce, excellent communication skills, the ability to identify inefficiencies and be able to suggest and implement improvements, a drive to maintain safe working practises, proactive time management and a keen sense to learn to apply and come have a meeting with us, let's see if we can put your skills to the test!
