About the Department

The Enterprise Division comprises four companies: Contracting, Rail, Telecoms and Utilities. The SSE Enterprise Projects and Operational Support Team support the entire Enterprise division leading the deployment of best practice in assurance, project management, engineering and in handling strategic projects.

SSE Enterprise Utilities is the Distributed Energy and Private Networks business of SSE plc. We finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.

What is the Role?

The SSE Enterprise division has opened an opportunity for a Trainee Project Leader (TPL) to provide key support to Project Leaders. You will be tasked with gaining an understanding of the Project Leader role and developing the skills to ultimately be able to progress to the position into this position.

As the TPL, you will ensure that task instructions, information packs, project files and drawing control procedures are processed correctly. Additionally, you will ensure that all technical information relating to the project is reviewed for agreement and shared with the team at operational meetings.

You will work in conjunction with the Regional Project Manager to ensure this work is prioritised in line with each project’s requirement. You will work as part of the wider office support team to ensure that the delivery of all projects is happening in line with business requirements.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, it would be advantageous if have a thorough understanding of company technical and administrative procedures and standards.

A background in distribution engineering or a technical qualification is highly desirable for this role.

You will be a proactive and energetic individual who works to their own initiative and can multi task in both technical and administrative duties.

We are looking for a solid administrator who is excellent at organising and managing multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be a strong negotiator with excellent communication skills who can build rapport with people working both inside & outside of the Project Delivery team.
