Our Role

Due to expansion within the Field Sites Engineer will deputise for the Sites Manager in the management of all Radio and PoP sites.  Their role is to achieve the minimum possible number of preventable faults that impact on communications services using the site and ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met. 

To achieve this, you will initiate corrective action programmes and business cases supporting these activities.  You will be expected to run the preventative maintenance programmes and individual improvement projects while providing direction for NOC and third-party support teams.  You will also be expected to police the design, installation and handover documentation. 

Your Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will come from a technical background of sound electrical/mechanical/process knowledge and have a thorough understanding of technical drawings.   You will also ideally have completed an electrical engineering qualification or equivalent.

An adaptable approach to work planning is essential to cover incident management responsibilities and a thorough understanding of telecomunications principles and technology is required.

To be succesful in this role, you will have previously run projects and have the ability to identify, develop, design, quote and deliver projects offering a high profit contribution to the business.  Therefore previous experience of financial management of projects, business development and negotiation skills  are essential to drive results. 

You will be a confident manager and overall team player who can inspire and encourage others and is self assured in sing your own initiative.

You will have fantastic communication skills and will be open to constructive criticism and has excellent written, verbal and numerical skills.  The ability to balance customer requirements, commercial priorities and, technical design to deliver consistent workflow is essential.
