SSE Airtricity Contracting Solutions is Ireland’s leading street light contractor, responsible for the maintenance of over 250,000 street lights on behalf of 25 local authorities in the Republic of Ireland.

Due to anticipated and continued growth in the street lighting/electrical contracting sector, we are seeking a well organised and self-motivated Sales Engineer to join our Commercial team. You will manage all stages of securing new works from creating opportunities, initial contact, proposal, sales to project handover to Operations. A key part of the role you will be managing sales for your assigned area and managing your client relationships to ensure AUS deliver a good service and obtain repeat business.
You will liaise with various clients, local authorities and non-local authorities within the assigned area to raise AUS's profile and to increase relationships. You will undertake and manage the sales and pre-delivery stage of public lighting projects to include on-site survey works for new lighting schemes which involves assessing suitable column positions and the preparation of drawings, risk assessments, schedules and associated works.
-Provide Technical advice (Design, products, pricing)
-Support AUS product portfolio
-Manage Project Handovers to operations
-Follow up on all tenders/Quotations issued and ensure that all outcomes are recorded
-Proactively contribute to the development of the commercial team, AUS product offerings, services and future strategy
-Ensure bespoke contract negotiations on terms and conditions are concluded successfully
-Presentations and sell company products and services to potential customers, either by mail, email, telephone or face to face
-Achieve short, medium & long-term sales objectives in line with overall business objectives.
-Provide feedback on market trends/ competitor activity relevant to AUS
-Follow up on new leads and referrals
-Interface with other departments e.g Pricing, Legal & Billing etc.
Your Skills and Experience
-Working knowledge of some of the following AutoCAD, Lighting Reality, cable calculation software, MS Office and an ability to read construction drawings
-Must have a trade or third level qualification relevant to electrical contracting industry
-Excellent understanding of the Electrical sector / construction industry with very strong Commercial awareness.
-Demonstrate the ability to work independently, with initiative, delivering against sales targets.
-Have the ability to create, compose and edit written materials, appropriate to the role
-Highly skilled in negotiation and effective communication skills –both verbal and written.
-Be a Highly committed, driven dedicated and assertive individual
-Hold a valid driving license, as the role will require travelling to clients
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule including occasional overnight travel.
