Salary: SSE8 £39,413 – £52,055 depending on skills and experience plus excellent benefits.

The Role

As Contract Manager you will work on the development and negotiation of contracts and ultimately manage the contracts and monitor performance of our external contractors. You will be the link between these external contractors and SSE operational staff; ensuring that our health and safety, business, regulatory and contractual requirements are met at all times. A crucial part of this role will also involve the identification and implementation of a continuous improvement culture which drives smarter ways of working. You will be accountable for all areas of contract management, which will encompass leading contract meetings between external suppliers and partners across SSE, handling resolution of operational issues and concerns, monitoring performance against budget and conducting regular audits.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have strong communication and negotiation skills with a solid understanding of key elements of contract and be familiar with financial and procurement processes. You will be experienced in leading meetings, conducting audits and have the ability to assess risks and make strong commercial decisions. A good working knowledge of gas and electricity governance, along with gas and electricity business processes would be ideal. It is imperative that you have a natural flair for problem solving and thrive on challenging performance and upholding our strong focus on safety, value and processes.
