Salary: Up to £45,066 depending on skills and experience

Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week

Our Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Performance Engineer to join our team, responsible for carrying out regulatory and performance reporting. You’ll also be involved in the design and audit of SCADA queries to present the relevant data, allowing you a unique opportunity to impact our process and outcomes. In this role, you’ll also manage the Technical Support Assistant, supervising and coordinating their workload and ensuring they have the necessary training and equipment required.

As and when the demand requires, you’ll also get involved in more complex pre-commissioning work, tasked with delivering excellent service to our control room and project teams.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, we ask that you have previous experience in the development of SCADA displays and controls, with a strong eye for detail. You’ll be able to analyse large amounts of data and produce accurate reports for a variety of audiences.

You’ll be a team player, and will act as knowledge sharing ambassador, and be able to work to tight deadlines. In addition, you’ll have a knack for relaying complex messages in an easy to understand manner, and be able to foster and maintain positive working relationships.

Our Company

At Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), our skilled teams operate and maintain our electricity distribution and transmission networks, carrying electricity to over 3.7 million homes across the north of the Central Belt of Scotland and Central Southern England.

Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain.
