Salary: £36,000 – £55,000 depending on skills and experience plus Sales Commission Scheme, Company Car and Fantastic Benefits Package

Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week

Our Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to help us grow our gas business and achieve additional connections agreements. You’ll be working on behalf of Indigo Pipelines Limited, reporting directly to SSE and Indigo jointly. In this role, you'll be employed exclusively as part of the team, and will have a support from design and commercial teams to help you carry out your role effectively. You'll be able to work from home or from an SSE office located close to you. Apart from travel to different sites, you undertake periodic visits to Indigo’s offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh or London.

Key Accountabilities:

- In conjunction with others within Indigo (and potentially SSE), develop a brand marketing plan to be rolled out to all utility infrastructure providers (UIPs) with a focus upon all UIPs operating in the target regions
- Generating detailed sales campaigns, delivering an immediate increase to connected supply points and developing detailed origination processes.
- Developing further business relationships with specific UIPs and conducting detailed analysis to identify those operating in the target regions and contact accordingly

Your Skills and Experience


- Utility industry experience within gas networks
- Existing experience operating as a commercial manager 
- Demonstrable contract negotiation experience and extensive contacts with UIPs (Utility Infrastructure Providers) across the target regions
- High attention to detail, entrepreneurial abilities and ability to hit the ground running
- Strong communications skills and a willingness to travel and operate 


- Fully accredited gas engineer with previous hands-on field experience working for a UIP (Utility Infrastructure Providers) or IGT (Independent Gas Transporters) 
- Some experience of building commercial sales and administration teams
