Job Title: Estimator

Location: Glasgow or Aldershot

Salary: £34,000 - £45,000

Permanent | 37 hours per week 


Our Role 

In this role you’ll develop cost models/plans, submit accurate estimates and manage bids for design and build projects, including large and more complex major schemes, to secure profitable contract work.

You’ll prepare accurate estimates of net costs for contract tender bids, complete tender order reviews, analyse technical specifications and designs, arrange contractor enquiry documents and assist the bid management teams on larger projects.


Your Skills and Experience

With this in mind you’ll be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Rail sector and the key contracts and customer/client base within it.

You’ll also have excellent maths and IT skills, have completed a craft apprenticeship to the level of BTEC (or recognised equivalent), knowledge of contractual requirements, a good understanding of technical drawings, the ability to "take off" quantities from drawings or bill of quantities and be able to prepare Schedule of Rates.
