Our Role

As part of the SSE group, SSE Enterprise Contracting is also one of the UK's leading mechanical and electrical contractors delivering a service ranging from small re-wires to major design and build projects.

With workload increasing due to a number of on-going and forthcoming projects, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Approved Electrician to join our team. The role will be based in Chichester and would provide electrical statutory maintenance compliance for planned and reactive works to all West Sussex County Council properties under the WSCC contract, covering Crawley - East Grinstead - Haywards Heath area

Your Skills and Experience

In this role you will carry out reactive M&E Building Services works including electrical servicing and maintenance work without immediate supervision in a safe, efficient and economical manner. Electrical maintenance work includes but is not limited to fire alarms, lighting systems, emergency lighting and electrical power distribution systems. You will work under direction from an electrical engineer/supervisor but will be required to liaise with clients and sub-contractors and suppliers as required.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record within electrical installation projects mainly commercial and industrial. You will also have a strong understanding and appreciation of Health and Safety on sites. In addition, you’ll have a sound understanding of Electrical Drawings and organising materials on site.

You must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Electrical systems operating principals and ensuring compliance with the current edition of BS7671.  You’ll have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent). You’ll have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice, relevant British Standards and Construction Industry Safety Regulations and also have obtained City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection or equivalent.

A full UK driving licence is vital for this role as well as a passion for safety and the ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
