Job Title: Contract Manager
Salary: £36,000 – £55,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager (Renewables Operations) and supporting the Head of Procurement & Commercial (Wholesale) you will be responsible for the Procurement activities associated with high value / high risk tender events, as well as the commercial management and administration of contracts ranging from £10k- £2bn to ensure successful delivery in accordance with all internal policies and procedures.
Aiming to deliver best in class Procurement and Commercial services to internal customers, you will continuously build and develop relationships with main suppliers and contractors to ensure value for money and appropriate commercial controls are embedded in all contracts. Supporting the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives, you will be keeping a focus on continuous improvement, and identifying supply chain cost reduction opportunities and advances.
Conducting sourcing events, you will procure the lowest cost of ownership in accordance with the principles of efficiency and best value. This would include covering all commercial, business and legal project risks and contracts and negotiating terms and conditions within own area of responsibility.
Some of the projects the team are currently involved in include the Caithness Moray Shetland subsea cable at £1.2bn, the Ferrybridge multi fuel plant at £300m and the Beatrice offshore windfarm at £2bn, so this is a role with a chance to be involved in large scale, high profile projects.
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for our successful candidate to hold a degree in quantity surveying, or another allied discipline along with significant experience in supporting strategic projects and contracts as a Contract Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Procurement specialist. They will have had a background in contract negotiation, tender management, sourcing management and support, cost and budget management as well as contract administration which will have been gained in a construction environment. They will be a very organised individual, highly numerate, be experienced at interpreting numerical data and be adept at drafting and interpreting commercial contracts.
