Our Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Linesperson to join our teams based in Poole. In this role, you’ll carry out inspections and maintenance on the 132kV overhead line network. You'll also be responsible for the safety of yourself and colleagues, and act as ambassador for a strong safety culture in everything you do. This role can be demanding, and you’ll be required to respond quickly to emergency situations; we want to provide the best possible service to our customers in their time of need. In addition, your role will involve working outdoors in all weather conditions and there will also be a requirement to undertake standby duties.

This is an excellent opportunity to explore a new career path in a vital part of our business. You’ll learn new skills, undergo specialist training and be part of a great team, working to complete jobs in accordance with company objectives.

Your Skills and Experience

To ensure you get the most from your role, we ask that you have previous experience working on either electricity networks or on telecoms masts, however neither are essential as training will be provided. A relevant qualification, Cat 3B Operational Authorisations, or Tower Rescue would all be a great advantage too, however not essential.

You’ll need to be very comfortable working at height, and enjoy working outdoors, whatever the weather. You’ll also be a good communicator, with an ability to motivate and work well with your team mates. If you have First Aider experience, this is also a bonus.

Our Company

At Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), our skilled teams operate and maintain our electricity distribution and transmission networks, carrying electricity to over 3.7 million homes across the north of the Central Belt of Scotland and Central Southern England.
