Salary: £36k-£54k per annum plus excellent company benefits

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Assurance Manager to join SSE Enterprise Rail, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Assurance. Working closely with the Senior Management team in Rail you will develop the Assurance Framework in a consistent and pragmatic fashion in alignment with recognised best practice standards and relevant regulations affecting the Rail business.

You will work closely with colleagues from Compliance, Regulation, Legal and Data Protection on matters that require their input and/or approval. You should have a good understanding of the 3 Lines of Defence corporate governance model and of the way in which the various functions within it interact.

You’ll be a qualified Lead Auditor, with extensive experience of carrying out risk-based audits against ISO 9001:2015 requirements, and in alignment with 19011:2011 guidelines. You will be familiar with other key Management Standards, and, ideally, will be familiar with Lean Six Sigma principles.

You will have significant experience of facilitating and hosting workshops to support SSE Enterprise Rail to map and develop processes that are not only compliant, but also lean and efficient. You must be skilled at managing and delivering such process development projects / programmes on time and within budget. You will also be expert at rolling out and embedding new processes, systems and ways of working.

To be successful in this role you will be required to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’ll be confident in challenging conventional ways of working. Knowledge of the Energy industry is essential and a detailed understanding of the legal and regulatory obligations affecting SSE would be advantageous. As you will be required to travel and work in different locations, a full UK driving licence is also essential.
