Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen, Reading or Portsmouth

Salary: up to £50,539 depending on skills and experience

Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week

Our Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and self-motivated Quality Engineers to join our Quality team based at a variety of locations. This team holds responsibility for the delivery of commercial business objectives, whilst ensuring that all regulatory, statutory and financial reporting for the Commercial & Connections business is delivered in all set targets. They are also responsible for all quality control, developing a culture of continuous improvement, driving quality standards and operational excellence throughout the Connections Business.

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll conduct daily reviews on our Engineering Connections quotes and designs, ensuring they are of the highest quality and adhere to all relevant regulatory rules. You’ll be the final check point before our Quotes are presented to our customers, so this role is pivotal in ensuring we provide outstanding service which is of the highest quality possible. 

If you do find any potential issues or risks during your review process, you’ll highlight them to relevant parties, working with them to ensure these are corrected within the set timescales, and conducting follow up reviews where necessary. In addition, you’ll provide recommendations on quality and processes to relevant team managers, including senior management.

A key part of your role is ensuring we are adhering to regulator rules across the business, using your expertise to mitigate risk and promote a culture of high quality and service. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn about our business, and gain hands on experience with our vast portfolio of projects.

To ensure you get the most from your role, we ask that you have a qualification in Electrical Engineering, along with with previous experience of power systems network design or electrical design. You’ll have an acute eye for detail, and will have a strong analytical background; you should also have experience working in a quality control capacity within a regulated business.

With strong communication skills, you’ll be able to develop and nourish positive working relationships across your stakeholder group, including internal teams and external third parties. Any experience in the collation, creation and provision of KPIs would also be great, however not essential.
