You will work in our Energy Solutions business – SSE’s energy optimisation division - within the Support Operations department in the Scotland. Energy Solutions has an established and growing portfolio of commercial and public sector clients who rely upon the business to support and optimise their building management controls infrastructure.

You are responsible for managing a team of Support Engineers who maintain, repair and upgrade customer systems within the South East, ensuring work is completed on time, within scope and budget. Your team will manage customer support contracts and injected works to a total value of £1m - 2m each year. You will be responsible for effective scheduling to create the best possible levels of productive working, creation of efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

Managing the technical and commercial aspects of contracts and customers you will ensure targets are achieved and, where possible, exceeded. Liaising with Account Managers, Business Development Managers and the Commercial team on contract conditions, you will ensure the company’s financial interests are protected at all times.

Carrying out Performance Management reviews with direct reports you will ensure objectives are clearly set, skill gaps identified and development plans developed and reviewed. You will ensure that all Performance Management reviews are agreed, reviewed and documented in the required format.

You will regularly review and improve operating processes to ensure efficiencies are identified and maximised. You will also be asked to provide forecasting and reporting information.

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of working in an operational role within the BMS & Controls, Construction or Mechanical & Electrical industry where you had management responsibilities.

You will have the ability to think laterally and creatively to develop innovative solutions to challenges and identify opportunities for improvement and advantage. You will be resilient and tenacious and possess a strong value set.

Excellent communication skills are essential to maintaining relationships with all stakeholders including customers and external service providers. You’ll likely have a professional manner and be dedicated to meeting customer expectations.
