Location: Flexible, ideally Reading

Salary: Circa £125k plus excellent additional benefits including company car/car allowance and annual incentive

SSE is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK and a successful player in the UK energy supply business with around 10 million customers across our various brands. SSE Enterprise Telecoms, part of the SSE Group, operates a 13,700km UK-wide telecoms network, providing services to other telecoms providers, companies and public sector organisations.

Due to continued growth we are recruiting four Sector Directors to join our Telecoms Leadership Team. Within the role of Sector Director, you’ll be a key influencing figure leveraging resources efficiently to drive continued rapid revenue growth, build and grow relationships with new and existing customers, meet annual revenue and sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis as well as be accountable for the delivery of projects and customer relationships with the focus being within four key sectors: Mobile Network Operators, Public Sector / Transportation, Energy & Utilities and Enterprise.

With strong financial and commercial acumen you will lead, develop and implement a clear sector sales strategy to meet quality, sales, project deliverables and cost targets for the sector in which you operate (including capex and NPD requirements). You will monitor progress against targets and proactively seek positive outcomes in areas of under performance, demonstrate a strong focus on driving improvements in revenue, margin, client satisfaction and retention. You will be responsible for overall budget planning and strategy of the sector, monitoring progress against the plans to ensure the Company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.

An experienced people manager, you will be expected to lead, motivate and empower your team to achieve their full potential, promoting a positive but challenging environment which allows people to succeed and develop professionally in areas of interest. In addition to this, you will provide coaching to the team in providing a consultative approach to sales, project delivery and driving customer relationships that will deliver enduring value.

In this exciting role you will further build on the positive reputation of SSE Enterprise Telecoms by building relationships with key sector accounts through strong service management with a focus on providing an experience to differentiate us as a trusted business partner. Experienced in the Telecoms industry, you will understand the customer, industry and market trends and develop new and innovative mediums through which the business can grow and promote its products and services to enhance the brand and customer loyalty.

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for you to be a strong leader, with experience leading teams and giving guidance to other specialist roles. You will have proven experience of formulating and implementing sales strategies. You will ideally be Degree Qualified with a track record of operating effectively at executive level.
