Location: Thames Valley Region (base locations include Slough, West London, Reading, Andover)

Salary: £30,432 - £40,190 (SS06); £34,123 - £45,066 (SS07) depending on skills and experience + car

Due to continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Manager to join our Connections team based in the Thames Valley Region. The Connection team within SSEPD is responsible for meeting customer’s needs in respect of connection to our electricity network, including single homes, housing developments, industrial developments, generation developments and independent distribution networks. The Team Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the operational staff and contractors for the region as well as engaging with our key stakeholders with the overall aim of enhancing the customer experience.

As part of the role you will be responsible for managing your allocated portfolio of contractors, ensuring that you maintain outstanding engagement with key stakeholder’s ad customers during and after the connections have been delivered. Through this you’ll be involved identifying and developing initiatives that will form part of our annual work plans for continuous improvement in connections engagement. You will liaise with key Commercial team members and also Operations colleagues helping resolve any issues as they arrive, ensuring an exceptional customer experience is maintained. In addition, you’ll work to monitor and drive success in the delivery of our Connections Engagement plan of commitments.

To be successful in this role you will have a good working knowledge of electricity distribution and Power Systems networks. You will have a proven track record in project management both in the financial and delivery elements of the role. A relevant electrical qualification would be highly advantageous, however not essential to your application. You will be I.T. literate being comfortable with Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Office. Knowledge of PROMIS and GIS & SIMS would be highly advantageous, however training will be provided. Due to the nature of the role, a full driver’s licence is essential.

To be considered for this role at SS07 you must be SAP Authorised.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential and the ability to comfortably deal with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. You will be numerate with a high degree of accuracy and be confident in producing high quality work to deadlines. As a result of this you will be able to demonstrate a sound commercial awareness in the decisions that you make, being able to identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.
