£38,265 - £56,671 depending on skills and experience + car allowance

Due to continued growth we are looking for a Project Manager to join our Strategic Investment team based in our prestigious new premises in Reading, One Forbury Place, conveniently located in Reading town centre. This new location offers new flexibility in the way we work, and with this in mind, this role can be carried out splitting time between the office and either your home or another SSEN location. 

As a Project manager, you will be responsible tor the management of large capital projects from initial high level scope, assessing and approval of design, financial analysis and forecasting, managing construction and closure phases. This will include working in a team to manage the contractor, contract management, Quality Assurance, Quantity surveying contract and tender management. You will work in a team to manage a turnkey design and build contractor, monitoring the design, contract and constructing of a large capital scheme.

You will have previous experience managing projects through the design stage, experience  working on cable and/or substation projects up to 132kV would be beneficial.  A minimum HNC in a relevant subject is preferred, in addition to experience in this field with a DNO or a supplier to the industry. A recognised qualification in Project Manager such as Prince 2 would be advantageous.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital and you will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. Previous experience in applying the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 to large projects, and fulfil client and Principal Designer duties would be advantageous. You will be required to manage the contract management, Quality Assurance and Quantity surveying contract and tender management; therefore the ability to thrive under pressure is essential.
