Our Metering IT Support team provides application support and development for our Smart Metering business.

This is an exciting and challenging development opportunity for a Junior Technical Specialist to join the team responsible for providing day-to-day operational support of primarily Oracle products - Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) and/or Meter Data Management System (MDMS). You will receive Oracle Foundations training and a development plan with a view to progressing to Technical Specialist and  performing  support tasks such as diagnosing and resolving incidents and problems, providing system monitoring and reporting, performing regular application administrative maintenance tasks, responding to alerts and supporting new developments and projects to ensure operational sustainability is maintained.  

To be considered for this great challenge you will be required to demonstrate your technical aptitude and initiative to problem solve, such as writing Excel formulas or macros to automate regular tasks.  Any previous experience in a support role or understanding of SQL concepts will be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

As a creative thinker and systematic and analytical problem solver, you will demonstrate a proactive approach to prioritising your own workload within demanding schedules. Your excellent communication skills will help you to work with multiple stakeholders and 3rd-party suppliers and we are looking for excellent attention to detail and high-quality output alongside a keen desire to learn and progress a technical career.
