SSE is one of the largest and most diverse Energy companies in the UK and Ireland with around 10 million customer accounts and over 20,000 employees.  The energy market is competitive, complex and subject to substantial change which makes this a great opportunity and an exciting time to join our business.

Over the past few years Lean Six Sigma has been deployed in our Retail business and has delivered improvements in a number of areas.  Due to its success a small team of Lean Six Sigma professionals is being set up to work collaboratively across all business areas to identify and deliver real, measurable, operational and financial improvements and ultimately lead to improvements in customer satisfaction.

We are looking for a Head of Continuous Improvement to join our recently formed Group Change team, leading the deployment of Lean Six Sigma across SSE. This is an integral role in our transformational activities and will drive sustainable, efficient, and customer focussed solutions across our businesses.

Reporting to the Director of Group Efficiency Programme, the Head of Continuous Improvement will be responsible for the development, implementation and realisation of the SSE Lean programme strategy, ensuring the strategy supports business objectives.  You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring the quality, value and sustainability of improvement projects and will lead the development and deployment of Lean Six Sigma skills across SSE.

We are looking for someone with vision, drive, ambition and tenacity together with a proven track record of leading Lean Six Sigma and Continuous improvement programmes in a large corporate environment.  With the ability to influence others thinking, you will have excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent facilitation skills and be able to engage with all levels of the business, whilst leading the organisation through its Continuous Improvement journey.

You will be determined to become a positive contributor to SSE's vision and your willingness to support and actively promote SSE's core values will help to ensure your success in this role.

In return  for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you a competitive salary package in a position which has excellent routes for career progression within the SSE Group. You will also enjoy an attractive benefits package, including pension, share plans, a generous leave entitlement (with options to purchase additional leave), reductions on energy, phone and broadband bills, plus a host of other rewards and lifestyle benefits. As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from everyone, and value diversity in our workforce. We will consider flexible working arrangements for this role
