Do you have commercial policy experience? Like being at the forefront of developing and establishing sustainable policies that benefit our customers? Interested in promoting and implementing efficient policies? Yes? Keep reading, we need you!

We work in a regulated environment, and as such, we must ensure our policies are developed and maintained to best serve the developing needs of our customers and stakeholders. With this in mind, we are looking for a Commercial Policy Manager to join our team whose main  responsibility will be delivering the commercial business objectives of Transmission. Working closely with internal teams, and external bodies such as Ofgem, DECC plus many more, you’ll ensure our commercial policy deliver optimum benefits for our business and our customers. At SSE, we ensure we work as effectively, and efficiently as we can with a commitment to continuous improvement; you’ll act as a key representative of Transmission in the ongoing development of industry policies, processes and procedures. In addition, you’ll identify commercial opportunities as they arise as well that can benefit the business and our customers as well as look for opportunities to mitigate any business risk. You will also use your expertise to define, create and deploy various initiatives to promote efficiencies and stakeholder experience.

So, now that we have your attention, what do we need from you? A thorough understanding of the UK Networks market is key, along with experience within a commercial, regulatory or legal environment. You’ll be an exceptional communicator, with an ability to convey complex messages in an easy to understand manner both in written and spoken formats. An ability to carry out commercial negotiations is necessary in this role, and applies to external stakeholders also. You also will have a strong will to deliver what’s best and if there are changes required to allow this then you will not shy away from delivering that change. Project orientated, you’ll have a knack for time management, with an ability to deliver within challenging deadlines and to highly detailed specifications. Last but certainly not least, you will be extremely safety orientated, both in a practical, onsite and commercial, policy sense.

For us it's not just about being good at what you do - it's about enjoying what you do, too. So we'll encourage and empower you to be imaginative, share your great ideas, and do work that you can be proud of.  In return, you'll enjoy a variety of benefits and development opportunities. On top of a competitive salary, you'll enjoy generous holiday entitlement, a Group Pension Plan, share options and discounts on energy bills, phone and broadband.
