Our Renewable Operations business operates 1,150MW of conventional hydro electric capacity across numerous hydro electric power stations in Highland, Perth and Kinross and Argyll and Bute. A further 300MW comes from its pumped storage facility at Foyers, on Loch Ness. We also operate over 2000MW of onshore wind and 500MW of offshore wind capacity.

This role will primarily support the Renewable Operations commercial functions within Generation & Storage. You will provide post contract commercial management services across a range of primarily Hydro and Wind sites to maximise the value of our supply chain and reduce controllable costs.  You will have a working knowledge of various forms of contract, and have experience in administering and managing agreements post contract award (In either the role of client or contractor) and have a working knowledge of basic finance elements such as profit and loss statements.   

Advising on contract strategy and leading contractor management and governance for your area. You will be tasked with quantifying and costing of wind and hydro site works and certifying contractors payments. Additionally, a key element of your role will be cost management and reporting against site budgets as well as producing the annual budget for your sites and provide general contracts and commercial advice.  

To be successful in this role you will be educated to a minimum of HND level in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or an appropriate business related discipline and have post qualification experience in an operational environment/industry for example construction, civil engineering, M&E etc. A background in client side/consultancy based quantity surveying or similar commercial role within renewables would also be ideally suited.

As you will be interacting with multi disciplined teams its essential that you have good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills and experience in reporting/presenting to differing groups of both internal and external stakeholders.
