DOMESTIC CREDIT CONTROLLER

SALARY CIRCA €26,000 (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

SSE Airtricity is Ireland's second largest and fastest growing energy provider, supplying around 800,000 domestic and commercial gas, electricity and home energy services customers in the Republic and Northern Ireland.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller within our Domestic Credit Control team. This is a high performing team who are tasked with collecting outstanding domestic debt in both ROI and NI with a proven track record of achieving its targets. The purpose of your role is to monitor & ensure customers are operating within agreed payment terms.

Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities including contacting customers in arrears (telephone, email & letter), prioritising aged debt collection and dealing with customer queries. You will ensure that you are compliant with Regulation (UR and CER), code of practice and data protection. You will work with the PayGo process to ensure customers can use it as a suitable payment process.

Using your excellent communication and organizational skills you will liaise with other departments to resolve any discrepancies and improve processes. You will produce regular reports identify failed payment plans and ad-hoc reports including high debtors and actions taken to collect payment and KPI's.  In addition to you will make outbound collection calls, liaise with third party organisations regarding collections and payment plans.

You should come to this role with demonstrable knowledge and experience working within a customer focused environment. You will have experience working in a credit control function. You will have a proven ability to influence prompt payment and work to tight deadlines along with strong business reporting skills enabling you to identify trends and minimise risk.

Your excellent negotiating skills along with your professional telephone manner will be your core assets in this role. You will have the ability to forge relationships and develop/maintain inter departmental co-operation. Essential skills for this role include excellent analytical/reconciliation skills couple with strong communication and organisational skills. Training in Credit Control/Management such as CICM or IICM is an advantage.
