Reporting directly into the Managing Director, the role of Director of BD will be to lead and support the Sales, Marketing and Business Development teams to construct and implement comprehensive strategies in order to develop the profitable operation of the SSE Enterprise business.

 

A key responsibility of the role is to identify and develop a list of targeted clients, partners and opportunities to ensure sustainable business growth and therefore the successful candidate will have extensive experience and a proven track record in business development and commercial management. Experience in managing large scale projects, pre & post contract, partnerships, JV and dispute resolution is imperative in addition to strong entrepreneurial skills in order to maintain and develop prospective client and key strategic partners and relationships.

 

As a member of the Leadership team you will also have the gravitas to lead the Enterprise Sales Team with the strategic development of the Enterprise business verticals in mind.

 

Responsibilities also include driving business opportunities through evolving customer relationships that will support our business verticals to achieve their longer term business goals in the B2B market. Opportunities will be surfaced where we will deliver propositions with end-to-end customer centric solutions by tying together and managing financing, technical design, energy efficiency, long term power/heat supply and generation. Significant cross-selling is a key focus and this will enable us to differentiate ourselves in the un-commoditised, higher value energy management space.

 

The successful candidate in this role will be a natural leader of people with excellent managerial and motivational skills with experience of managing large teams and participating in business development initiatives.  Strong commercial acumen, demonstrated through a career history of positions held and knowledge of diverse practices and concepts is essential to be able to deliver in this role successfully. You will also be have knowledge of finance systems, management and reporting knowledge and be commercially astute.
