Salary: £42,908 - £56,671 (SS09) depending on skills and experience + car

Permanent – Full time hours

Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

We have an opportunity for a Lead Project Manager to join our team based in Perth; this role holds a wide span of responsibility, allowing you an opportunity to gain extensive exposure and experience across a range of projects. Leading the Strategic Investment Design team, you will hold responsibility for design, technical approval and implementation of various engineering projects across the function, and location.

You’ll work closely with internal teams such as Engineering & Investment, Regional Strategic Investment and commercial  to ensure your teams are operating safely, and deliver the highest standard of service in line with design plans. In addition, you’ll utilise your communication skills to lead, develop and grow the skills and capability of your teams through rigorous and effective performance management programmes.

To ensure you get the most from your role, and our customers receive the highest standard of service, we are looking for you to hold a min. HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering, with relevant experience in the field; the qualification is essential or substantial equivalent experience as an alternative. You’ll have a detailed knowledge of design, operation, protection and safety evaluation of High Voltage networks up to 33kV.

Your communication skills will be the best; you will be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders of all levels, with a distinct knack for communicating complex messages to a non-technical listener. If you have experience within a commercial setting, with contract negotiation and tender evaluation, that’s a bonus. Due to the nature of your role, you should hold experience within site management, and demonstrable experience of utilising CDM regulations and project management techniques.
