Reporting to the Lead Procurement & Commercial Manager in our Front Office, you will manage business requirements for all Goods, Works and Services for SSE’s Utility Solutions, Heat Networks and Slough Heat & Power Businesses. Focusing on the delivery of procurement requirements for the business, you will demonstrate value  leadership, customer service and innovation to support the vision in becoming a world class provider of Procurement and Commercial services and embed a consistent approach to reduce the total cost of ownership by achieving targets set in this regard.

 

You will engage  regularly with Category Managers and the Head of Procurement & Commerical Shared Services to ensure the wider function provides a co-ordinated, effective and efficient service to the business.

 

In addition to the above, you will have an understanding of  the markets, regions, commodities and services the businesses reqruire.  You will support the  development of  operational and commercial models and develop procurement strategies and incentives based on these to engage contractors who will deliver  outcomes to meet the business needs.

To be successful in this role, you will be MCIPS /MRICS/degree educated or have an equivalent direct entry to a recognised appropriate professional body and have previous experience in a similar role where you were responsible for procuring and managing contracts, managing suppliers and sub-contractors, and supplier vetting, development and management. It is essential that you are proficient in the use of P2P procurement related systems and have experience of managing change requirements within organisations. Due to your previous experience in an operational multifaceted business you will have an understanding of supply chain concepts and how to improve them.  Travel will be essential throughout the UK/Ireland.

Demonstrable stakeholder engagement and managements skills are essential, as is the ability to influence, lead and resolve disputes and problem solve. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, strong commercial acumen, and a continuous improvement mind set.
