We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Project Manager to join our team within the Networks Business to lead the delivery of a portfolio of Networks projects as part of the transformation programme. You will be resposible for managing large and often complex projects within Networks Mobility and all the elements which make up this programme including; Mobile devices, Wi-Fi, "app" development. The success of the mobile programme will be key to delivering future business benefits across Networks.
As Business Project Manager you will run multiple complex projects from conception to completion and in doing so will manage dependencies and interfaces between projects whilst preparing strategies for risk mitigation and contingency plans. Your key accountabilities in this role will include reviewing and issuing change controls for the most economic and efficient system design co-ordination between projects, validating project costing and ensuring project budgets are adhered to.
You will take the lead on health, safety and environmental initiatives at all stages of project development and delivery by continually finding ways to reduce health, safety and environmental risk factors. You will be comfortable challenging project decisions to ensure delivery of business benefits whilst achieving compliance with regulatory governance and will strive to model continuous improvement behaviours when compiling business cases by looking for the most cost efficient option to drive a culture of ongoing development and innovation.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of transmission and distribution networks, an understanding of SSE processes and procedures would be advantageous. Excellent Project Management skills and a proven track record are essential to be successful in this role, together with a knowledge and experience of PRINCE2 methodology. You should have skills in appropriate solution delivery, a sound commercial understanding and experience in effective stakeholder management to include internal and external stakeholders. You will have experience managing large teams and should be able to create a sense of teamwork a key SSE core value. You should also be confident in the governance aspect of defining roles and responsibilities for your team whilst planning and administering projects and the overall programme.
The core location for this role is our newly developed offices at No. 1 Forbury Place, conveniently located in Reading town centre. This new location offers new flexibility in the way we work, and with this in mind, this role can be carried out splitting time between the office and either your home or another SSEN location.
