In this exciting and challenging role, you will be managing multiple teams in delivering a quality, stable, performant and available IT service in support of business and corporate goals. The primary function of the group is to deliver, and thereafter support, Infrastructure to various projects to enable development of applications for the business, deliver replacement kit to improve reliability and service, deliver upgraded / new solutions, and to ensure successful service transition. SSE is moving toward a Cloud provisioning and utilisation strategy and this role will be pivotal in that journey.

You should have the ability to influence and work with all levels within the organisation, including executive and senior management as well as experience of successfully leading and delivering Cloud solutions in a large organisation. To meet the demands of this role, you will demonstrate a comprehensive breadth and depth of knowledge and experience of working in a complex project environment including multi-vendor and matrix environments. You will have a proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workloads within demanding schedules to ensure successful delivery of business priorities.

We are looking for relevant hands-on design and implementation experience in IS and Cloud solutions, ideally with knowledge in some or all of the following areas; application development, network design, middleware, servers and storage, database management, infrastructure. You should have knowledge of all aspects of Cloud and Infrastructure architecture and be familiar with and experienced in the application of one or more architecture frameworks and any associated architecture development methods, including: TOGAF, DoDAF, MODAF, Zachman, FEAF.
