Information technology is a priority for SSE Power Distribution (SSEPD).  Efficient and cost effective IT enables business goals to direct, operate and manage the SSEPD business. In addition it is a key enabler for innovation and strategic investment in IT will enable SSEPD to perform optimally. Our Networks IT team are responsible for a significant number of projects all planned for delivery as part of a five-year roadmap for change. This diverse roadmap offers the opportunity to lead projects in various spaces including digital, CRM, mobility and work and asset management.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager to join a growing project team near the start of the delivery roadmap for our Networks Transformation programme. As a pragmatic Project Manager, with knowledge and experience of the full project lifecycle from feasibility through to operate and evaluate, your role will be to take responsibility for the delivery of specific projects at varying stages of maturity, from inception through to go-live and support. As a talented IT Project Manager you will have the ability to effectively matrix manage project teams, potentially across multiple sites as well as off-shore. You will also be qualified to practitioner level (Prince II, PMP or equivalent), with a project management background delivering projects, aligned to the application domain, with a value in excess of £1m.

You will be able to demonstrate project planning and execution experience, risks and issues management, and stakeholder management skills to enable you to effectively engage with stakeholders, both within and impacted by the projects. Responsible for project resource management within your team, you will also bring leadership skills and experience to the role. Your Project Management background will have prepared you to work with procurement and commercial departments and to manage contractual relationships with 3rd party providers, including contract enforcement and management of SSE's obligations and liabilities, contractual change management and milestone payment managements.
