SSE Telecoms operate a 10,300km UK-wide telecoms network, providing services to other telecoms providers, companies and public sector organisations. All aspects of system integration, from data and voice cabling through implementing complete LAN and WAN infrastructures, are undertaken for clients nationwide. We are currently recruiting two roles within our team in the South and are looking for experienced Electricians and or Data Installers to fill these roles.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager / Site Technician, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a variety of tasks predominately in the south of the UK working out of the Thatcham offices, for both internal and external clients, adhering to and promoting the companies core safety values at all times.  

The successful candidate will be required to undertake:-

  • Installation of various containment systems this will include conduit and trunking;

  • Installation of various electrical circuits;

  • Installation, termination and testing of Structured cabling systems;

  • Installation, termination and testing of fibre optic systems.

As an Electrician you should be qualified to the current IEE Wiring regulations (BS7671 / 17th edition) or to City and Guilds 2330 Level 2/3, and have experience of carrying out testing.  Ideally you will also have City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification and substation experience.

As a Data installer you must be suitably qualified with City & Guilds 3667 in both Copper and fibre optic systems or equivalent.

Part of our role within the SSE business includes the provision of an emergency reactive team which you may be required to be an active member, responding to and managing various issues and faults across the country on a rolling rota basis so flexibility is a must for this role.

A full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role. As safety is our number one priority, you must be confident to act on your own initiative in all situations.
