SSE Telecoms operate a 13,700km UK-wide telecoms network, providing services to other telecoms providers, companies and public sector organisations as well as providing support for all inbound and internal communication within SSE.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technical Pre-Sales Consultant to join our team in Reading. 

The Senior Technical Pre-Sales Consultant supports the technical element of solution sales within SSE Enterprise Telecoms, supporting sales productivity and targets by leading on the technical elements in bespoke connectivity solution designs, including Unified Communications, Cloud and WAN/LAN solutions.

Collaborating proactively with Sales and Engineering departments, you will ensure proposals include cost effective solutions that accurately address customer needs. You will comply with and actively embrace the SSE approach to health and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring optimal cost input on all network designs and securing input from all necessary solution stakeholders, internally and externally, including managing supplier responses to agreed timescales. You will maintain an excellent working knowledge of SSE Enterprise Telecoms products and services and ensure product knowledge is kept up to date via collaboration and networking.

You will develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of key competitor offerings and of latest technological developments within the industry. You will proactively scope and qualify opportunities for technical solution sales to address customer needs.

Providing coaching and development to other team members, you will enhance their product knowledge and technical acumen and you will build solid peer to peer relationships within account base to ensure high customer satisfaction ratings are met in line with the company values.

To be successful in this role, you should have a proven and demonstrable track record in pre-sales/sales engineering and solution sales within Enterprise, Systems Integrators and Service Provider sectors. You should have the ability to engage at IT Director, CIO or IT Manager level within designated accounts and have a good knowledge of Layer 1-7 networking protocols including WAN & LAN technologies - Fibre, Ethernet, MPLS, Optical, IP Networking and Cloud communications.

You will have a high level of computer literacy and have excellent attention to detail with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of voice, data, unified communications, cloud and managed network services and have an understanding of next generation networking technologies. Industry certifications such as MEF, CECP, C.O.N.E and CCNA are desirable.

A strong communicator with excellent verbal and presentation skills, you will be customer focused and be able to work on multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment, remaining professional at all times.  You will be an experienced influencer and negotiator and be confident when dealing with senior stakeholders.
