Salary: £34,123 - £45,066 depending on experience

Fixed term 12 months contract

Digital Studio Team

The SSE Digital Studio team is responsible for delivering continuous improvements and new capabilities to our web and app channels. Over the last year the Digital team have moved to an agile approach which has successfully delivered major projects such as Responsive Services and Online Smart Appointments on time and budget, while greatly reducing both risks and costs.  We are now expanding our team and looking forward to delivering challenging new projects with continued success, but we need to diversify our team, skill sets and generate new ideas. 

What will I be doing in this role?

Working for the Digital Performance Manager, you will be responsible for providing insights and recommendations to the Digital Studio and wider business teams against digital KPI's and market performance.

You'll be analysing data from sources, including web analytics, optimisation testing, external sources and other insights tools. By understanding this data you'll identify opportunities and recommend improvements to deliver SSE's business plan.

As an expert user of our web analytics systems you will be implementing tracking solutions on our digital properties in order to successfully report against specific goals and KPIs for projects and campaigns.

What do you need from me?

We need you to demonstrate experience in a similar digital analytics position and be able to evidence the value you have contributed to business success previously.  You will be a subject matter expert in enterprise level web analytics systems such as - Webtrends Analytics, Adobe Omniture Analytics, Google Analytics 360 and your ability to extract, analyse and present data within systems such as Microsoft Excel should be first class.

You must demonstrate how your excellent engagement skills enable you to manage your stakeholders with ease and create a data driven decision culture. You must also be passionate about delivering exceptional service and putting our customers at the heart of everything you do.

It is essential that you can demonstrate commitment to ongoing improvement of your skill sets. And being able to thrive in a fast paced, challenging environment, with the ability to work to tight and demanding timescales is a given.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and provide reports, and associated insight, to inform stakeholders against digital KPI's and market performance. Including, but not limited to, customer acquisition, customer retention and digital marketing campaign performance.

  • Implement best practice digital analytics systems set up through tag management software.

  • Work with the wider Digital, Digital Marketing and Product teams to help them identify business and site improvement opportunities.

  • Work with the Business Intelligence team, and other teams with relevant sources of data, to provide a better understanding to the wider business of the impact of the digital channels on the overall business success

  • Support planning and execution of A/B and multivariate tests in line with the digital optimisation plan.

  • Ensure selected 3rd party agencies and suppliers meet their given targets by being the day to day contact.

  • Use other tools as appropriate (mixed methods approach) to explain online behaviour (e.g. Hitwise, online survey tools)
