Our IT Database Support team is responsible for creating and maintaining the Microsoft SQL*Server and ORACLE databases which underpin most of SSE's core applications. The team's primary function is to ensure all production databases are available, secure and performing satisfactorily, in compliance with defined Service Level Agreement (SLAs).

This is a great opportunity for highly-motivated professional Oracle Apps. DBA to support and maintain our many database applications for both SSE and SGN. It is a challenging role and we are looking for a committed and versatile individual who we anticipate will initially be fully integrated into the current daily support and maintenance activities and then possibly become more involved with major database upgrades as part of our extensive IT Project portfolio.

It is essential you have the following technical skills: extensive commercial experience with ORACLE Applications eBusiness suite in a production support environment; Db installation, upgrade, configuration, patching, cloning; AD administration, forms server, report server; Apache; Jserv; XML Gateway; SYSADMIN; Diagnostics; Oracle BI, installation, administration, configuration, Discoverer Desktop; Data Masker; Config snapshot; Quest STAT; Korn shell scripting; PERL; FUSION; SOA; WebLogic Middleware; ORACLE OBIEE and Siebel.

As well as being involved in, and personally responsible for, some aspects of the daily project and support workload of the team, you will own some aspects of incident resolution and root cause analysis as per agreed SLAs. A key part of the role will be to contribute to the production, review and maintenance of team documentation. You will also take responsibility for specific compliance activities including audit, DR and patch management, whilst providing technical support and guidance to business areas and other technical teams.
