SSE Enterprise Rail is a specialist business that works solely on railway estates for Train Operating Companies and Network Rail. It currently maintains over 1000 buildings nationwide.

Due to expansion of our Rail business, we have an exciting opportunity for an Approved Electrician to join us at Surbiton Rail Station.  The main responsibility of this role will be to carry out electrical inspection and testing at railway stations on the South West trains network, from Vauxhall to Pinhoe.

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical test and inspection work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the current Construction Industry Safety Regulations and SSE policies and procedures. You will assist with maintenance and minor works, as well as attending call-outs.

To be considered for this role you will need to have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2391, 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent). In addition you will have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice, relevant British Standards and Construction Industry Safety Regulations and also have obtained City & Guilds 2394/5 or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of electrical systems operating principles, as well as the ability to commission and test electrical systems and equipment.  It is essential that applicant have a full, clean UK driving licence. Experience within the railway environment will be an advantage but is not essential as training can be provided.
