Metering Transformation

£49,500 - £74,000

Reporting to the Metering Head of Transformation, the Lead Project Manager role combines specific project delivery responsibility with the management and development of project managers, not necessarily engaged within the same programme of work. This will require oversight of a number of different programmes and projects at various stages of maturity and spanning different Metering Business areas.

In addition to working with multiple business stakeholders you will work with our Finance, Procurement and Commercial teams to define and manage contractual relationships with 3rd party goods and services providers, including contract tendering and definition, contract enforcement, management of SSE's obligation and liabilities, contractual change management, milestone payment management, exception management and claims procedures.  You'll ensure projects are delivered to cost, time and quality requirements, undertaking quality assessment and gate reviews of projects at different levels of maturity within SSE.

You'll work with the Metering Transformation Team to identify areas of individual expertise and personal development requirements for each of your team members, and will provide guidance in project execution matters including the application of tools and techniques, issue resolution and risk mitigation, securing resources and management and the application of relevant SSE polices and processes. You will also act as the first point of contact for all SEARs and IT Security reporting processes, raising reports and escalating as required

The Metering Business is at an exciting part of its evolution and as part of the Metering Transformation team you will be responsible for delivering critical projects in this space. Typical business led projects may include: working with customers and Metering stakeholders to develop capabilities to deliver the Smart mandate; implementing process efficiency improvements to reduce business cost base, and integration projects between, for example, Customer Operations and the wider Retail business

You should be qualified in Prince2 to Practitioner level and have significant experience of delivering multiple engagements with a value in excess of £1m and programmes or multiple projects with a simultaneous execution period. Furthermore, you should possess deep expertise in one or more core project management disciplines including, but not limited to, planning and estimation, solution delivery methodologies, governance, project controls, financial management, commercial management, release management, quality management and business change.

You should be an accomplished communicator with a customer focused approach. A team player and collaborator in style, you should display excellent influencing skills and have good attention to detail.  You will provide leadership, focus and direction for the project team.  You should also possess an ability to identify key stakeholders and have strong project governance.

Your benefits will include pension scheme, share save and share incentive schemes, generous annual leave entitlement (with the opportunity to purchase additional leave), discounted energy, phone and broadband, plus a host of other lifestyle choices.

Previous applicants need not apply.

Closing date for applications is Friday 5 May 2017

The successful candidate will be subject to a verification and vetting process which includes a basic criminal records check.
