SSE Energy Solutions team are working with our Wholesale Business ensuring SSE has the energy supplies it requires to meet the needs of customers. Energy Solutions focus on helping businesses achieve significant reductions in their buildings' energy consumption through Building Management Systems and remote support via our Energy Management Centre.

As a Sales Estimator you will prepare cost plans and submit accurate estimates for design and build project bids to secure profitable contract work in line with client requirements. You'll be responsible for the tender order review; making sure tenders are reviewed, completed and submitted in agreed timescales. The technical specification and design of contracts will vary in size and you'll consider all clients' requirements and technical issues fully, identifying and recommending alternative solutions to enhance bid profitability and deliver value engineering.

Having a strong commercial acumen and electrical and mechanical knowledge means your technical understanding of drawings, bills of quantities, schedule of rates and assessing risk will be second to none. You'll have completed a craft apprenticeship and demonstrate excellent maths and IT skills.

First class communication skills are absolutely essential to allow you to work to deadlines, use your initiative and negotiate successfully. You'll be happy to work alone or as part of a team, always achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst protecting client and data confidentially.

The role will involve working in various departments within the sales division of the business and will involve carrying out assisted sales visits, assisted site surveys, working with Sales Engineers and Project Engineers.

Having developed a thorough understanding of the sales process as an estimator, you'll enjoy increasing business opportunities in accounts through seeking, qualifying and closing new sales. We'll look for you to have the technical skills needed to assist in the understanding and design of Building Management Systems.
