SSE is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK. We own the electricity transmission network in the North of Scotland, and own and operate the distribution network across the North of Scotland and Southern England.

As part of Scottish and Southern Energy, the Programmes Group North Team are responsible for the light and heavy refurbishment of SSE's overhead wood pole network. As well as any major new build and rebuild for new connection or renewable projects.

We are looking for talented Network Design Engineers with original ideas and inspiring designs to join our design team. As a Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing projects from LV up to transmission level and providing innovative design solutions throughout project scopes.

To be successful in this role you will have an eye on long term development in order to identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements. You will possess previous experience working in power network design together with experience in applying construction design, designing technically complex projects, and Management Regulations 2007 to project designs, whilst working to tight timescales, therefore thriving under pressure is essential.

You will have detailed design and specification of overhead schemes up to 132kV and possess a minimum of an HNC or equivalent experience within Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
